    B6hp rating?

Whats the B6 hp/tq rating in the BF chassis? just the little 1.6sohc non turbo.

Gonna see if its worth my friend swapping out to a 94 1.6sohc engine since his car is getting some mad crank endplay.

    JACK.

It isn't bad really, but it's not enough for me...when I get in my 323 from driving my Protege or Miata, I'm disappointed and that's why I'm going to be selling it.

crazycanadian used to have the built-up B6 turbo conversion I started a few years back. Nice engine. We bartered some work for parts and I don't hink he's using it. You might want to get a hold of him to see if he has it and is willing to sell it. I could tell you all of what it has if you're interested.

Dont sell your prime exa,ple dude, just do a Swap! Grab a DOHC B6, rebuild it, and if you really want, boost it. You have a perfect car to do it to.

does anyone think there would be different flow properties between the 2 intake manifolds? BF is center fed, and the BG is side fed. I think there HAS to be a 'better flowing' one of the 2, don't you think?

also found out today the BF 1.6 and the BG 1.6 do not use the same oil filter.

On a non-boosted engine set-up, I'm not so sure that it makes a significant difference, but for what it's worth.....

I always heard that the "log-style" has the chance of starving the last cylinder a little of air-flow when in high rpm-range due to being last in line. I'm assuming that the center feed allows for more even distribution of air. In a boosted setting, providing less air to the last cylinder might be detrimental to the engine's performance and/or longevity. However, keep in mind that many engines with "log-style" intakes have been set up with turbos.

Personally, I still prefer the center feed better especially if it has been ported.

                      Just my 2 cents.

lol.. Larry I still got the motor.. but its not up for sale... I am saving some cash right now so I can get that motor into the old blue car and use for a daily while I rebuild the GTX...

I am going to look at tweeking somethings on that motor though.. I gotta pull the head of it and the pistons out.. I want to cc it and figure out the compression ratio you created with the machine work to the head.. and then I am going to cc stock gtx pistions.. if the compression ration isn't to bad then I am going to look at using the stock gtx pistions and rods insted of the stock B6 ones you are running..

so you'd think the center fed design with a little massaging would flow best? i can see how it would distribute air more evenly thru out the cylinders though. The BP intake manifold is notorious for having cyl #1 lean out

B6 DOHC in the 89 familias came rated at 130ps because of the 10:1 compression, think that equates to around 126 hp
