    Anyone run a B8 down the 1/4?

Well, the first test and tune at my local track is coming up on Wednesday and since my BP is nowhere close to going in yet, I'm just wondering roughly what I can expect out of this old motor. This engine has close to 380,000kms on it so I know it's not going to be that great. If I can almost break into the 16s with a stock B6 with about 350,000kms, I'm expecting low 16s, maybe high even 15s. Anyway, let me know what you guys think.

most people have trouble running 15's with a BP, so i'd say high 16's if you know how to launch

I ran a 17.13 with the B6, so I should be able to easily make it into the 16s.

I'm with you on this one.

Let the car breathe a bit better before you hit the track too.

              I bet he runs 19's...... J/K

I'm surprised that crazycanadian hasn't chimed in. I know he ran his B6 for a while. I wonder what he did with that B6 turbo-conversion he got from me?

I run 17.2 with the B8 in my 4wd pro back when it was stock. High 16s is possible with a 2WD.

I should go back and see how much faster the BP is.

Well, today was a crappy day for racing, rained off and on 3 times and it was pretty cool with a head wind of about 20 mph. My best run was 16.453 @ 82.07mph with a .609 reaction time on some old 14s. If the weather was a little better, I probably could have pulled off a 16.2 or so, but I'll have the BP ready to go by next month's set and see what I can do then.

Its still sitting in my shed Larry... all though with the GTX getting pretty ruff my old Blue 323 is goind back on the road.. The B6 - turbo motor is going to end up in it this summer.. That old Blue car is going to see some major fun work...

The old stock B6 ran 19.1's when it was auto... 17.7's after a 5 speed conversion then 15.4 with a pretty much stock B6T conversion and stock boost..

nice job.. what were your 60's?? reaction time doesn't meen anything when it comes to your 1/4 mile time.. it only tells you if you were sleeping at the lights or not.. Improving your 60's is what you really need to do to get faster..

My best 60 ft time was 2.458 and they were all between that and 2.65. Once I get some better tires and we actually get some rubber on the track it'll get better, 175/65/14s are def not good for racing as you could hear on the video.

If you air them down a little it might help out.. If you can get down into the 2.2 60's you'll be doing pretty good... You might be able to run your 16.'s then..

Well, I'm pretty happy with the 16.4 with the B8. New tires and the BP will be ready for next time.

I pulled a few runs out today and picked up on my best with a 16.394@83.33mph with the B8 since I'm waiting for a few parts for the BP.
