Question/Idea for oil filter on the b6t

Ok so as some of you know, the oil filter from the honda civics, accords, 88-00 fits the b6t. Well since I have been playing with hondas for the past 7 years I know that the oil filter from the 01 and up civics, rsx's, and others will fit with no modification. The advantage to this different filter is that it gives the motor more oil pressure since it is a smaller filter. I am going to try this out and see if its the same with the b6t, my only concern is that the stock oil pressure is high as it is under boost. I am wondering if I should even try this out but have the fear that under boost it will shoot the oil filter off the car. Give me some insight on this if I should even do it.

the whole point of using the honda filter is that its larger, isnt it? the stock b-series (mazda) filters are tiny.

    personally i run a KLDE v6 filter.

The only way a filter could possibly affect oil pressure is by restricting flow compared to another filter. Restricting flow is restricting volume. This will give a greater chance for engine seizure. Filter size doesn't affect pressure. The check valve in the filter does but that's another area where size doesn't matter...You *want* more filter volume. It'll filter better and longer. The only reason you'd have a small filter, or the manuf. spec's a small filter, is because of space constraints. I use a remote filter with a bigass ford PH8A on the rallycar and it has the same oilpressure at hot idle and high rev as it did with the stock setup. Find the biggest filter you can fit and run with it.

Go with that KLDE V6 filter, it'll do just fine.

Yes seriously. I have seen oil filters shoot off of cars blowing the motors up.

Why not run a remote oil filter where you can throw on a BIG Chevy V8 size filter?... plus the can is big enough to hold another litre of oil in it.

                    That's what I got!

oil filters have a pressure relief valve that prevents them from having anything over 80-100psi(depends on app/company) or so. Even the crap fram filters have them now.

Unless using 1970's oil filters I'm still calling bull****.

seriously, the mazda engineers probably knew what they were doing when spec'ing out the oil filter size. I would recommend the proper mazda genuine filter.

I have been using honda oil filters for a couple months now and it work just find. I found when i bought a reg filter from autozone and the guy asked me what honda is that for, i said its for a mazda and he told me they have the ame part #. So had a few honda oil filters at the house (use to work for honda). Did my oil change with the honda filter no problems. And FYI all honda except the s2000 use the same filter. When i worked at honda we only had one size blue filter we used on all the cars came there. the s2000 filter were a lil bigger, i even used that on my car (b6t) and no problems.

ive seen the fram filters blow on a 4g63t when they rev past 7500, it blows out the filter seal and sprays oil everywhere. at that rpm those motors push out 100 psi pressure. and whats with this spam bull**** lol.
