    Need LSD tranmission!!!!

I just purchased my 94 mx3 about 1 year ago and now into the customizing part of it. I am planning on getting the gtr motor and need to get a good tranny to match up with it. people are saying that i am able to use 96-98 mazda protege, or a kia sephia the same year tranny because they are equipt with the lsd tranny. my questions it "IS IT TRUE", and does it just bolt up. i know that i have to use same axle that is on the new tranny and tranny mount. but does it really have lsd?? let me know i am very interested. thanks names chris

there is no transmission that comes with an LSD that will bolt to the BP, at least not that was sold in america.

      lsd tranny

So i just have to get the transmission from a 96-98 pro, or kia sephia, and buy the lsd from the mazda dealer?

idk about the 96-98 pro, but the 1.8 95-97 sephia transmission has the strongest case casting you can get and the LSD from a mazdaspeed protege will drop right in. you'll also need the axles and intermediate shaft from said kia.

if you want to spend big bucks you could order a quaife from corksport, but it really is leaps and bounds better than the msp diff

Yep the only rwd LSD box is in the mazda infini. You could ask some guys from new zeland to find you one but they are really rare cars. I'd just do the kia box with msp lsd. Probably way cheaper in the long run

indeed, the infini box requires infini specific axles that you obviously cant get anywhere

well the gt-r will bolt into your mx-3 using BP mounts, but wiring is a whole other story, might be better off going MsNs if you're 94+ (wiring gets weird). Yes the kia tranny bolts up to the gt-r.

                  true But

dont forget some of the old Jspec BF Infini b6t GT turbo series had a FWD LSD box option and will bolt to a BP engine, but still just has hard to find them

and with a little bit of work
you can take a Jspec EC MX3/AZ-3/Eunos pressio LSD gearbox and put the gearset into a G5 box

or even a Jspec MX6 LSD gearset, taller gears though

more than one way to skin a LSD

my point is, infini's where not the only model to have LSD

                      i understand that..poor bugga's

but im just trying to write the wrongs, eveyone seams to have this embedded "fact" that the BG infini was the only FWD BG model and the only LSD gearbox that will bolt to a BP, which is not ture.

but yes i feel for your lack of JDM goodness

also have anyone heard of using the throttle body off the miata for the mx3. is that even going to make a difference? and if so what do i need to make it work.
