    want replace broken struts

I have a 97 protege 1.8L and 2 struts leaks oil (1 front and 1 rear), so i want to buy 4 kyb gr-2 struts and replace them all. My question is can i ony buy struts from here(http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-G...spagenameZWDVW) and intall them with all old parts(old springs and old other parts)? can they work together without any problem? Thanks advance!

I would suggest to replace the bellows with the bump stop. If the strut mounts are cracking or have cracks when you open the hood they should also be replaced. When I replaced my struts with kyb gr-2 they were an exact fit. So if you want to use the old spring and other part they will fit without any problems.

best to replace both springs and struts at same time. It's probably the first time ever on the car. these things are getting old.

lowering my car.. wasn't hard of a job..but after 10 years... the brake lines just snapped on me... when removing em from the struts.. the two rear ones.. which was a pain.. but now i got some shinny looking stainless steel liness

GUys just wanna know. My car is like low...The rear is like a finger gap or less. I want to get it a bit taller, should i need a bump stop or is there something i can put in the spring to get it a tad higher? I like the looks but sometimes when i load groceries, t kinda looks really low, like tucked in.

you may have a cracked rear spring. i dont know about about the BH chassis but the BG chassis has a very very common problem where the bottom coil of the spring rusts and cracks. its hard to even see the damage until you remove the spring from the strut.

                            get low
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
