New feature! and think I'm the first worklog?!? Anyway, I'll be documenting my progess on my 1995 Protege ES. But let me introduce her... I purchased the car in 2000 after I got into a terrible accident in a '90 civic lx. My parents wanted me to get a safer car with abs brakes and airbags, me being in high school at the time had not enough money to buy a car that had those options. So they found a used Protege at the local mazda dealer. Turns out the owners daughter drove this as her car but wanted a newer car so daddy got her a new car and put the protege on the lot. I had no idea about mazdas or this car's potential because I was interested in preludes and integras. Well we ended up getting the car for $8999, at 40,000 miles on the clock. My parents purchased the car and I paid them until I evetually owned it. I didn't like the car at first, but she grew on me and when I did some research I learned that I had purchased the top model which comes with the 1.8L BP engine 122hp, G-series 5spd transmission, four wheel disk brakes, and 14" alloy wheels. I started out reading on forums begining with protegetech, then protegeclub until relations got sour there, while clubprotege started up, and then to imazda, and now more back to here...wow what a trip. Anyway I digressed.
Which brings us to 2008. Here is my car starting from a few months ago before I took it off the road. I currently drive an '05 Volvo S60R and will be rebuilding the BHA, to what extent I do not know.
First entry: 4.27.2008
The engine with a toucan industries intake meant for the bg. I didn't like how the intake wasn't supported so I decided to take care of that. you can see it drooping
I used some duct strap material to moderately support the maf as you can see
I made a sort of slip joint that allows movement only at linear direction, it has worked just fine and it was trash a the job site.
