    Drafting, Design, Engineering

Hello! I am a Mechanical Engineer and also have about 12 years AutoCAD experience. I would be happy to assist anyone that needs something drawn up, reverse engineered, etc. I can do stress analysis, mechanical design, forensics, material selection, etc. I am also a registered PE in Idaho and Washington.

Do you have access to a water-jet machine that you could cut flanges or anything? The one dude on here who used to cut flanges for people seems to have dissapeared.

I wish! That would be a lot of fun! What I can provide is either a drawing or a CAD file that someone in your area can use to program their CNC water jet. I have worked with laser cutting outfits in the past to do sheet metal, so I know a little about what they would be looking for.

See the attached PDF. This is kind of typical of what I had in mind in being able to provide. Nothing fancy, but if you need a simple drawing to take to a machine shop, I am able to provide something a step up from a napkin sketch. As far a price, I am definitely not looking to get rich or make a lot of extra money. Something simple like this, I would probably do for $10 to $20 if you had a sketch I could work from. If it's something everyone can benefit from, I would work for a donation to the board and make it available to any paying members.

This is the only consulting firm I have worked at. I've worked at a bunch of other manufacturers. Some good, some not so good. Worked as an outside contractor at a large electonics firm commonly known by the first letters of the two founders' last names. That was fun to be surrounded by literally billions of dollars worth of state of the art manufacturing equipment.

figured I'd join in on the roll call...

I'm a structural engineer by what my degree says but I headed into the construction management side of the field instead.
