    Brake, suspension upgrade

Well since I recently moved, and all the roads are mountin, twisty roads.
I want to upgrade the suspension/brakes as much as possible.

Heres what I have planned, followed by some questions.

    Zx2 S/R struts(allready have H&R springs)
    Corksport Front/rear strut bars
    Brembo blank discs(front)
Have no clue on brake pads yet, Recommendations welcome.
    Possibly ss brake lines
    New set of tires

    Questions:
Are ss brake lines worth the extra money?
    ss clutch line?

Is there anything Performance wise to do to the rear DRUM brakes, besides ss brake lines, and doing the gs disk swap.

I might do the disc swap for ease of changing brake pads.and looks

Anybody know the widest tire I can go with on the stock 14" alloys with H&R and zx2 S/R?

I plan to do all this over the winter as its getting put up till spring.

    Thank you for your time

You should do the disc swap first with all the extra hardware, then buy a good set of pads (front and back). That should be more the enough braking capacity that you will need on the street and weekend autocross. Then struts, I like my H&Rs. I don't have any experience in the SS lines.

the stainless lines give you a MUCH firmer pedal compared to stock

Is there a differance in ss brake lines?
        I ask because corksport's are $89
and then they sell the Goodridge ones for $125
Is it b/c Goodridge is "name brand"?

I have everything for the strut/shock combo(just not the struts.lol)

And I remember seeing this somewhere but forgot..Is the GS sway bar thicker?
I heard it was 2mm thicker or something? Anybody have any input on that?

therieldeal- How are the kvr brake pads?

I just cant wait to feel the difference on the road with all this added at once.
Even more so if the full bushing kit on mx-3.com goes through.

Well as i was searching for tires, i was looking for the widest tire size i could get..that was my plan.

But as i was unpacking one of my boxes i saw the H&R spacer ad..
          it got me thinking..

Which would be better suited for this type of driving
thinner tires(but wider then OEM), and a larger spacer.
Or wider tires and a thinner spacer.
i know the best answer would be both..But i dont want to roll the fenders, Thats why im asking.
          Thank you for your time.

That all sounds good. Upgrading the bushings makes the biggest difference. 225s will fit on 15s, so I assume they'll fit 14s, too. The stock American swaybar is 20mm, until '96 (I think). You can get a 22mm from Whiteline, and the solid endlinks, and that'll be noticable.

225's need to be on a 7 inch wide rim at least. and im very sure your not gonna find a random 14 inch rim that wide.

Spacers are a bad idea, unless you need them for clearance.

On a 5.5" wide wheel (I think that's what the stock 14's are) you probably shouldn't go wider than 195. And for a 225 (especially if you're going to run an ultra high performance tire, such as Falken Azenis or Hankook RS2) you should optimally have at least an 8" wide wheel. All else being equal, a 195 will out perform a 225 on a 5.5" wide wheel.

Sorry about the mis-info. I didn't know they were that much thinner.
I recommend koni red struts, since they're softer, and perform better with the stiffness of the H&Rs..
I have H&R, Koni red, complete customized polyeurethane bushing set (Everything rubber was replaced), Aerospeed front strut bar, and CorkSport rear. My car was driven by Auto-X, and track racers, and they said it's already almost as good as their AST coilover based setups. I'm adding the Whiteline swaybar, solid endlinks, and making rear lower, and front tiebar, and will corner balance it all with spacers. This will be the ultimate budget setup.
