    MSII software question

ok, Ive tried searching some, but figured Id go ahead and post up my exact problems
Just got Lex's MSII a few days ago, went out today trying to get it all hooked back up and running

ill start by saying hooked up it cranks and idles fairly well, i then hook up the vacuum line to the ecu and it idles fairly low

    When i open Megatune 2.25 i get
"Controller code version does not match signature in Megasquirt-I.int(See audit.log for where the above file was found"
    "expected 0x14
    recieved 0x51
Table corruption may occur, terminate MegaTune now?"
if i click no it pops up the screen of 8gauges all reading zero,
"Although the file was read sucessfully there were 243warnings written to audit.log file, you may want to review.....send&burn values into controller?"
**I am debating going outside and clicking yes with MS plugged in
i think im having trouble with my serial to USB cord be recognized on my laptop, possibly why they continue to all read 0 after i crank the car

when i open MSII download 1.04 i get
    "For MS-II:
    1) Short the "B/LD" jumper on the MS-II board.
    2) Power cycle MS-II.
    3) File->Open."
I was given a different screen the first time i opened it but cant get that screen up again

MegaLog Viewer opens i assume just fine, but stays blank

When i crank the car the center led on the ECU lights up, and the first one flashes, when i give it gas the third lights up

there are 2 files in the Firmware folder that dont open
    "megasquirt-II.ini.2.873"
    "Monitor_v2.873.abs"

I apolagize if this a repost of anykind, I havent been able to find this info, and my laptop took a dump on my this weekend so im using a buddys till monday and would like to have all this figured out when it comes time to reload it all on my computer

    Thanks guys!
ps. I realize this is all inexperience problems I am not by anymeans trying to attack Lex or his services, work done looks great and the car runs as is...just damn confussing software

after trying a few things Im unable to get the MegaTune to connect the MS, I set Serial data rate to 9600 and tried a few different comports, im not sure if i need to update any drivers or anything, a friend said he had to do that before his laptop would pick up hondata

I am using this cord http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3120513 btw

go into the megatune configurator and make sure you are set up for MS2

i was just about to say i found this page
EFI, Fuel Injection, Auto, automotive, car, TPI, computation, ECU, MegaSquirt, GPIO, MicroSquirt, Sequencer, stim, MegaShift, MShift, DIY, transmission, 4L60E, 4L80E, controller, shifter

after following them a little on my desktop im going to go get the laptop, i think that may have been the problem, even tho i went under settings CodaVarient and didnt chage it, it seemed to be on MSII after i saved it MegaTune did look different, and it had some advice on USB adaptors..
can somebody please elaborate on this

" If you use a USB adapter, be SURE to set the buffer size to ZERO (0). You can change this in the Control Panel, look under 'System, Hardware, Device Manager'. The default buffer size for these adapters is typically 14 bytes. If this is the case with yours and you left the default, you would have no control over the data flow no matter what else you do."
i know how to get to the device manage but not how to change the buffer

this would be 10x easier if i had my wireless up and running instead of having to come inside every 15min

still got alot of other questions but if mods want to delete this thread thats fine.

The serial rate in megatune should be 115200 for MSII. Some USB adapters will give you lots of trouble - especially on newer laptops with USB 2.0

like i said i got it to pick up the ecu and read from it on my buddys laptop (XP) but im not sure if ill have any trouble on my Sony Vaio (Vista) once i get it working right again
Im gonna go tweak with it somemore this afternoon

for some reason my map sensor is reading 164kPa at full boost which if im correct converts to ~24psi
which is obviously no where near right, im running ~8psi
MS says "GM 3-bar data from Dave Hartnell"
                MAP is callibrated at 0.0volts = 9.3
                5.0volts = 260.9

Im not positive if i fetched that from the ECU or not
what do i need to fix??

a datalog from 2nd-3rd gear pull

im fairly sure my O2 sensor has a short, and my alternator isnt worth crap, i had the heat off radio power off and the battery light still fades on at high rpms, but its always done that, i think the belt actually starts to slip cause i tear em often

It is an absolute MAP sensor. So 100KPa is atmospheric pressure at sea level. 164Kpa means you have 64 Kpa of boost which is approximately 9.4psi.

Also, your map sensor should be the 2.5 bar one if you are using the stock one in the MS ECU.

What O2 sensor are you using and have you calibrated the MS for it (narrowband or wideband and which kind?)

                      ok that makes sense.
running the stock narrow band, i thought i had calibrated it for the narrow band but just now when i checked megatune under tools calibrate AFR table no sensor was selected so i guess i hadn't
and EGO control wasn't set on narrow band either, i guess i tried to change both of them with out MS hooked up
i know you said i was getting a 2.5bar map, i thought MegaTune said somewhere about it being a 3bar for whatever reason

which of these values should i use? i assume they're for calibrating the map
                      For the MPX4115 use 10.6 and 121.7
                      MPX4250 10.0 260.0
                      MPXH6300 1.1 315.5
                      GM 3-BAR 1.1 315.5
                      MPXH6400 3.5 416.5

but none the less i do have reason to think my O2 might have a short , it had a tear in the rubber around one of the wires that i wrapped in electrical tape a few months ago, looked like a fine connection still but may not be.

calibrated AFR table and set EGO control to narrow band, actually feels a little stronger, but i could be mistaken
O2 still spikes to 256 twice, not durring the pull but a few seconds later during regular driving, im guessing that may be a short, but ill check it out more this weekend
                        todays graph, 3rd gear again

im not sure why boost is all over the place up top, i dont know if thats just what internal wastgates looks like, i think my bov leaks some (turboXS crap) and my chargepipe coming straight off the turbo is fairly ugly and homemade 90degree bend, has about a 5-6" section of silicone coupler coming off of the chargepipe to the next piece of piping so maybe that expands some im not sure, its a quality 3 layer woven coupler tho (big rig radiator hose, buy it by the foot, best coupler for the $$)
