We should have a fuel pressure shutoff switch. When it dips below X psi, cut all injection. That would save from detonation and the ensuing boom.

id say cut spark so the engine shuts off completely

Fuel cut is more effective. Cutting spark leads to fireballs.

              nice
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

I think it would be pretty cool to wire in some sort of failsafes... i'd need some special code to be written for my MS but I bet it could be done.

For example, fuel pressure drops off more than a few pounds than it should be, cut fuel and spark. Oil pressure drops off below a certain psi, cut fuel and spark... etc.

Thats an engine I got from the junkyard. By the time I got done with the engine had 180K miles. Ofcourse its going to look like crap lol. Usually the ones that look like crap are the ones that will run... Well until the rod sheers in half and locks it up! Im sure he was referring to the silicon coming out between the block and the pan. Which I can understand if you have a show car and wanted a cleaner look you would cut it off with a razor.

This old beater will not ever win any shows so I am not to worried about the details.

did that rod break in 2? and go through both sides of the block?

Old dodge caravans used to kill the fuel pump if the oil pressure was lost.
They would no start if the oil pressure sensor went bad.
