    Ebay HID kit question

Is anyone running a kit from ebay? If so what temp are you running? I was thinking of going with a 6000 kit. Its bright but has a small hint of blue(I don't want it too blue). There's also a 12000 kit that makes the light appear more purple. I'm getting the edm headlights soon and want to run a set but want a desent set. I know a true hid kit is used with the projector style lights but I'm not going thru all that. And I don't want to spend a lot hence why I'm going with ebay.

    Here's a kit with the color/temp differences. I can't find the 12000 kit.

I want a hi and low beam kit. Let me know please.

you dont want to go 12k ... 6-8k will give you the slight blue tint but give good lighting ... the 12k is useless barely lights the road. are you going with the 35w or th 55w?

search cheap hids @ top for what seems to be a decent vendor of really chap hid sets

i have the 6000k in my 323 gtx they work great but you lose your high beams with the kit i got. i was told anything over 6000k lose light but gains color....

both my 626gt, and my mazda6 are using cheapy ass ebay kits. the kit on the 626gt has bene on there over 2 years without any issues. and the kit ont he 6 has been on a bit over a year. had an issue with a bulb, but they replaced it free, so im happy.

my 626gt's lights are 12k. and are no where comparable to the silverstars i had before. so dont listen to mazdanoob on that aspect. but they do light everything up purple. lol. but thats what i was going for when i ordered mine for the 626gt since i have the HELLA true yellow fog's. but realize. the higher the # hid you go, the less light output they have. optimum is like 6800 or so i think. but even a 12k hid has better light output then the silverstars which many say are the best basic replacement bulb.

after my two last ebay set's, and no issues, ill probably keep on buying them. im poor, and $60 hid's are right up my alley. lol

I bought the 6K bulb temp. from ebay, and I only had a ballast problem witch they gave me a new one. I wouldn't go with 12K because I'm sure it's illegal.

Ok cool. Thanks guys. I also talked to bomdoutscort and he runs 6000 on his ninja. So looks like I found my color/temp. Now does anyone have a good ebay seller? Can you guys shoot some links to the ppl that you bought from? Sounds like some good sellers.

You should go with the slim ballast kit. They have longer life time.

i have a friend who bought a kit on ebay and i most likely will to. when you turn on the highs it is supposed to become a halogen bulb. HID for high beams doesnt do anything. he has the slim ballasts and thats what ill be getting for the e36 housings once i get them installed

I'm using 6000k 5000k-6000k will give you the most lumens. The higher the color temp the less efficient the hids are and the less lumens (brightness)
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

Thanks for the link. Now I have to figure out low beam kit or dual. I've heard ppl have problems with the highbeams with a dual kit. Anyone have these problems?

As with all HID light kits dont get the ones from China or from someone selling them from china, they are cheaply made knock-offs. 4300k will give you the brightest light possible but with no color (pure white) . As you go up from there the color becomes more noticable but the brightness of the light is not as strong. I have 8000k hid's and get a bluish-white light on the road and everything else (road side objects) light up more blue then white.
Dont get the 55w kits as they are junk.
In order to properly use the Bi-xenon's (hi/lo) projector housings are the way to go to get them to function properly.
Also stay away from the kits where the ballast and ignitor are seperate units they tend to fail rather quick.
