    bye headgasket

don't know if this belongs in this section but there goes my p5's headgasket. This explains my starting problems for the past week. Well its a nice birthday gift to receive . put a long white cloth inside the combustion chamber pulled out the nice white cloth, and it magically changed colors from white to green. inside is soaked with coolant =/

Well hey. Those 2.0l cant be hard to replace a headgasket in. I replaced mine in my B6T with some help in 13 hours. With a lunch brake, and brakes to go inside and warm up. But i also had a turbo to remove which was most of my problem, plus I replaced my crank seals while i was at it, so i removed the oil pan, which you shouldnt have to.

Did you overheat at all? If you didnt once overheat, and when you take your head off and everything looks fine, and the surface is flat with a streight edge or on a very streight metal table, then i wouldnt even machine it or reseat the valves. Just replace the gasket and button her up. But if you find problems, then it might turn into something bigger.

yeah i did over heat a couple times but i don't know if the temperature reading H is considered overheating or if you actually start to see some smoke or something coming from the engine bay is considered overheating then no that never happened.

is getting the head decked just cleaning the surface of the head in order to give it a good gasket seal?

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

no i think its easier on a bp, the fs you have to remove the cams... the bp you can leave the cams right in there
