I'm redoing the interior/exterior of my '88 GT and would like to know if there is any compatibility from other cars. Are all the 86-89 trims compatible? How about the 90-94 Proteges? If not everything, what is compatible?

All '86-'89 323 interiors are compatible, and the same years Mercury Tracer. I have Tracer door panels, rear panels, and rear seat in my BF hatch.
'90-'94 Protege/323, MX-3, Escort GT, etc, front seats bolt up to the BF seat rails, I have MX-3 seats in mine which require the inside side to be spaced up between the seat frame and rail.
A ton of Mazda steering wheels will work too - I have a '79-'81 RX-7 4 spoke in mine.
And ect...lots of compatibility.

On the road soon: 2003 Protege5 V6 swap

Hey MazKid thanx, If u could point me in some direction to acquire more info on this subject I'd be willing to put together a list as long as it needs to be to id all compatibilities unless there is already such a list. I've searched but found very little. I also suffer from short term memory loss so a list will help (me atleast) more than once.
How about the exterior? I don't expect as much compatibility but do all '86-'89 sedans interchange. From pics they look the same but I have read that the GT sedan is a little larger in some places. My resources are few and far between (literally) or else I would physically compare the panels myself.
One last question just for good measure. Will RX8 seats fit?

As far as RX-8 seats...I'm not sure. They're expensive seats and have silly little triangles in them.

I measured the moonroof of the 94 pro lx and its longer and thinner. The seats from that same car have a big bulge at the rear of the seat therefore bolting the tracks from my car would probably require being spaced at the front of the seat and on the side of the seat where the absence of the present track would leave a gap. After I figure it out I'll post the results.

As far as the 94 Pro LX seats go, the original Pro track bolts to the bottom cushion and also provides the connecting bolts for the seat back. So when the track is removed the bottom cushion and seat back do not bolt together. The 323 tracks would bolt up to the Pro bottom cushion being spaced in the front and rear but are too close together and still have to find a way to attach the seat back.
If anyone has converted these seats before let me know how.

Protege seats would mount the same but shouldn't require spacing to sit level. Did you try just swapping the rails? You don't have to remove the seat bottom from the seat back, that stays together. You can even leave the BF seat rails bolted in the car and just remove the 4 bolts that mount them to the seat frame and swap the seats that way.

I robbed a 1987 RX-7 Steering Wheel and it has some issues fitting up and the turn cam is not making proper contact.
Slam it! I love this ST ! And it looks so cool, much like the original yet a tad smaller in diameter and factory leather wrapped in great condition!
Any pointers is welcome!
thanks,
David

I need a rear sub bumper.
I have one from the old GT is it the same as the GTX??
I know it is different from the hatch, that one was steel, before it became total rust fallout. The hatch bumper cover will not go over the GT sub, nor will the GT cover fit even around the corners, as if I would trim the edges of 4"David

I have an 87 Mercury Tracer and I was wondering what front and rear bumpers will fit? I know the Isuzu I-Mark bumpers will work, but they are boxy and square for the roundness of the Tracer. The Tracer is the same as the 323...only rounder. Are there any other bumpers that are available from the wrecking yards that are rounder? I know Corksport has the fiberglass GTR bumper, but I am not going to pay $400 + shipping. Also, they might not be making them when I get around to buying. Please help. Thanks.
