BPT swap project

Hey I'm new to the site but well under way on a BP swap for my 95 scort. I'm also doing a manual conversion seeing as the car is currently an auto. Haven't found a donor GT or Protege yet but hopeful one will turn up soon.

The Escort I have was found at a Firestone for $100 bucks. The guy abandoned it with the title. All I had to pay was the diagnostic fee. For a NY car its pretty clean in my opinion. Put a fresh head on and drove it for a couple months then the trany took a ****. Thats when I decided to do the swap.

Its a bit dirty. The rust spots arent that bad(fixable)

Ya I finally came over here. Tryin to get an opinion and some help from both sides. Maybe find a donor here faster then there. Who knows........

The rust is much lighter then the pictures show. I can scrape that of with my nail its so light. I'm going to head up to harbor freight and grab a stripping wheel to get the old paint off and prep for primer. Gona start doin that in the next couple weeks. cough....cough....bumpers yun......cough . Try and grab a tracer hood while im at the yard too if ones there.

What ya think of this color?



Its Rosso Alfa. Paint code 130. The father in law works at keystone. Any color I want for cheap. If I want it in spray cans its $7 a can(the real tall cans). I think if i got rid of all the yellow/orange(light covers and trim) on the car it would look sick. Maybe a decent set of 15"s too...... Once the tax return is here I'm going nuts!!!!!

Ya. Gotta get the BP first. Just taking baby steps to get there. BP conversion first, then turbo, while remodeling the whole car. It'll take a while but I want a respectable finished product.

Will High_body just part with the motor and ECU????? Is that the GTX trans or BP???? And how much????

The reason why I'm going plain BP first is because of funding. Currently layed off. Basically I have $6-700 to work will for a while after I buy an engagement ring in a couple of weeks . Figured I could try and just find a cheep donor car to start with. And thats alot harder then I thought.

I might end up buyin a good EGT and make the shell into an LX with all the parts I have. I cant find a donor for the life of me....

I'm ordering the paint on monday if everything goes right. Might as well get started on the body...

I have to try and get a few pictures of it now. Looks kinda funny with no front end,engine, and interior.

Oh ya.... I'm thinking about using brake light paint on the yellow reflector and turn signals in the rear. Then get some clear corners for the front. I think that will help with the look of the paint.

What do people think of the shaved drim down the side of the car? I have to remove it to paint anyway...

i like the trim gone, leave it off man. my new one looks better w/o it..... wanna come grab one of the bumpers this weekend? or you just keeping the lx stuff?
