    Microtech or Megasquirt?

I really cant decide what i want to do. I saw there was a Microtech LT10S for sale with a bp wiring harness but i dont think id be able to tune that by myself. And the nearest place is 250 miles away. The only thing making me think twice about M/S is that most shops wont touch it. And im still not too sure yet if I want to be attempting to tune it myself.

the microtech looks like a huge pain to tune from what ive seen

IMO go with megasquirt. lots of support for it here on the forums, and tuning really isnt that bad.

Microtechs are easy as. Especially if you do if via a laptop as there are plenty of visual displays to help you. Wideband sensor is a must. If you want to log your wideband afr's, you need to have the MT setup for wideband (0-5v) input.

What gives you the impression that they are a pain?

It all depends on the support group and knowledge available locally. In North America, the MS has a great support and dealer base for the BP platform.

microtechs r quite easy to use, however their product support blows, and getting anything fixed, or replaced under warranty takes forever.....imo unless microtech does something stateside to become bigger, they will eventually fade away. Theyve been working on several "new" products now for several years with no upgrades in site.... and theyre software is pretty much prehistoric.....it needs upgrades in the way of useability...aka..tuning with the ecu not hooked up...and transfereing of maps....upgraded map resolution for fuel and timing...however learning how to use their software is very easy...although a self-tune option would be nice or target afr
