How much gallons or liters a 1991 EGT plastic gas tank can hold ? (Full)

I want the original spec. from a brochure or something like that.

I've heard that non-gt's are 45liters and GT's 50 liters, is it true ?

lx and GT tanks are the same.. u can do ur conversion but i want to say the gt is 10 to 12 gallons i cant member as i have some issues with not being able to run the car below half tank or fill it up without it leaking..

i remember hearing the lx's are 12 gal and the gt's are 13. of course it was all hearsay with no actual proof.... but, they are for sure at least 12.

i think they are the same.. i dont see y they would change it really.. and if they did i could see it changing the sending units and other things which are the same..

so i dont believe them to be any diff.

also just cuz the tank is 12 gallons doesnt mean u get to use it all.. like me.. i get about 4-6gallons of gas per fill up.. the rest well idk just sits in the bottom of the tank laughing at me

from my own swap over in the last two months from a LX to a GT only thing i saw that was different was the venting tubes from the filler neck as far as i can tell by looking at them side by side the lx and gt share the same exact pump (unless its a different flow rate) but that was all i was able to find from a 91 GT to a 95 LX

The most I have ever been able to fill up was 11.9 gallons with and that was with the car sputtering and almost running out of gas pulling into the gas station.. So Idk, the manual says 13 gallons.

My local Ford dealer says that 1.9 thanks aren't the same P/N as the 1.8 gt's ones.

Anyway, my Mx-3 now has a 1991 EGT plastic tank, pump and gauge with gt's solid state gauge circuitery !

so wait are the mx3 tanks the same as the EGT's? cuz i seriously think the escorts gas tank is horrid and the fuel guage part of things suck..

As per the Ford issue shop manual:
1.8L- 13.2 gal.(50L)
1.9L- 11 gal. (45L)

i dont know y they would be dif.. i mean the sending units are the same.. mayb the lx one isnt designed as ****ty as the EGT one

Anyway, everything is done now.

The tank was ok and the sender too.

I admit that gauge accuracy sucks, but a gauge is just here to give an idea !

50 L...thank you...I am tired of filling up at 38 litres...my guage is not trustworthy (big fn surprise).
