4cyl Mx3 help

alright, my Brother has an mx3 with the sohc. and his tranny is shot. My friend and i are trying to figure out what tranny we could get from the junkyard that will work with that engine, My friend tried the tranny from his old BP on there and he said the half shaft didnt bolt up to the block... So we were wondering what trannys will actually work.. im pretty sure i can find a dx at the junkyard if that would work? any other ideas?

well there is a BP tranny bolted up to the engine now but my friend said he couldnt get the halfshalf to bolt up to the block?
