    Clutch compatibilty question

Basically what I am asking is if the clutch for N/A BP's 4wd is compatible with the clutch in BPT's 4wd.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Near-certain yes.

'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

I don't think so. The 4WD uses a BP flywheel and clutch while the GTX/GTR uses a bigger flywheel specific to these 2 models.

gah, I keep forgetting both my cars are running a 1.8 miata flywheel and thinkin that just interchanges with the stock bptgtx item.

If you have a bpt and a 1.8 miata flywheel, you can use a '93 mx6 clutch and everything'll line up fine. Dunno about that nonturbo 4wd clutch.

if you want to run the non turbo 4wd clutch, aka a regular BP clutch, get a BP05 flywheel. Or do what Jay says and go witht the Miata, MX6 hardware. Or, get the correct GTR/GTX clutch.

GTR and GTX are specific to themselves, nothing else interchanges

FWD/RWD BP or 4wd B8 flywheels are what you need... all the same pretty much.

the best clutch to use is for the v6 MX6/probe as it has a little more power holding capacity.

Hi. I'm popping this thread up.
I was searching for an answer and i've found this....
                  I have a turbo 4wd tranny (G25MX-R).
So, I want to confirm, If I refer to Jay, I can use a Miata BP flywheel with a 93 mx6 clutch and flywheel in my jdm 4wd tranny ?
                  Am I correct ?
If so, that would be really nice since I can't find any fidanza-toda-etc... lightweight flywheel for the BP turbo.

                  Thanks
                  Seb

yes this is correct. use the 2.5 liter v6 MX6 clutch. the clutch is a little smaller in diameter than a BPT clutch, but as long as you are buying a performance clutch you will be fine. a bone-stock V6 clutch would probably slip.

                        Marvelous !
Because we're here... if I look for a bully clutch (is it a good quality ?)
                        I'm hesiting between stage 3, 4 or 5.
I want the clutch to be good for around 300 whp, and beacuse the disc is smaller, I prefer take a good one to be sure it won't slip.

                        Thanks alot
