Mazda MPV

Ok guys - don't laugh. Just remember, I'm *older* and got kids. It's a Mazda though, and a damn good one at that, lol! We picked up this '03 last month after trading in our '01.

Yup, damn fine piece of machinery. My only complaint are the silver moldings on the body kit, i'd like to see those painted body color.

I'm not a big fan of the chrome pieces either. That's part of the GFX option though and I had to have GFX on the new van. The reason I upgraded from our old '01 MPV was because of the lower interest rates, rebates, and I qualified for S-Plan. The '01 was ok, but it had the 2.5 liter instead of the 3.0, plus we had bought it used. The MPV is a very popular van for tuners in Japan. There are at least a dozen killer body kits made for it by folks like Kenstyle, Autoexe, etc., but super hard to get over here in North America.

No, they stopped making the AWD in '98 in the US. They debuted the new 2nd gen MPV in '00. The ES model has traction control. The only mini's that have AWD this year (that I know of) are the Toyota Sienna and the Chrysler products.

Nice MPV. My parents bought a Sage Green 03 LX not that long ago. These vans are great. They've got a nice interior and it's got enough power to move it.

Afaik, the '06 MPV redesign will have the Duratec 3.5 liter and AWD. Most of this vehicle segment will go AWD eventually.
