capasity is based on torque and drivers ability. if you were skilled you could make a DX tow an other DX.
quick and easy answer:
Yes, 200ft-lb will be enough to get another protege to the track, but kiss your gas mileage goodbyeLast edited by Protoss; 01-13-2004, 01:26 AM.When you turn your car on... does it return the favor?

towing has to do with how much extra capacity the transmission can take.
Depending on how skilled you are at towing, you could use a Festiva to tow a car, but if you are a dumbass about it, you will blow any mazda tranny, including a g-series like the pro lx and K-series tranny's.
I've towed my MX3 with my Festiva in the past...but the festiva has a motor swap, but still has the shtity stock tranny.93' Noble Green MX-ZE (sold )

If you do, you will want to make sure to get electric brakes for the trailer and a controller for the tow vehicle. That is the most important safety thing for towing, especially with a small car (or a tow vehicle lighter than what it is towing).
I just towed a U-Haul sport trailer, which probably weighed 1200-1500lbs, across country, with 195/55-15 tires, and the Protege handled it just fine. Mileage took a hit, though.David Avard
