    Help me please.

i have a sohc b6. the issue is that sometimes i get spark and sometimes i dont. i know its not the coil because i replaced it and it did the same thing...so its before the coil, whatever the problem is. i will start it and sometimes it will run for half an hour or sometimes only 5 seconds. and then it wont start again until i unplug the coil or wiggle the wires. i have replaced the clip too so i know its not that. if anyone knows please help. thanks!

cap and rotor would be a great place to start. Then, if need be, check the connector.

well see, i figured it wouldnt have anything to do with the distributor or anything inside of it because sometimes there isnt even power at the ignition coil coming from the engine harness. and the coil is what gives the dizzy power....right? lol

and the wires are brand new.

On your disty there isn't anything that would mess with the coil cause it's not electronicly advanced it's mechanical.

I recently did a bunch of engine work on my 88 Gtx and my biggest worry was cracking wires in the harness. I noticed while doing some wiring that the original wires were dryrotted and just moving some caused cracking. Hopfully your car dosent have the same problem since you say the problem goes away after wiggling the wires

thats a thought, there are plenty in the yard.. the one on the Bf looks exactly like the ones on the Protege/escort etc.. ive got one from mine that worked.. if you want to test it and make sure.

Pullin the harness isnt too hard man in the bf.. a few hours, 10min to get it out, and the other time getting it back in....lol
