    RedLine Water Wetter

Adding the Redline to the cooling system is Unbelievable...My EGT went from almost overheating to running very cool...even while idleing in traffic on a hot day.

My complete cooling system has been all flushed, replaced, and rebuilt...it had no excuses, yet still run hot at idle in traffic (poor ebay rad fans)...so I thought I'd try the water wetter before buying a better fan.

Wow...I highly recommend it...esp for those in the southern States that see more hot weather than the short summer we have in Canada.

yeah i saw an article in street tuner or some magazine like that and they were saying it was like a 15* average difference in temperature. maybe ill try it.

I've used water wetter and have liked it as well. In fact, it's about time for another flushing on the Tracer and the T'bird. What it does is disipate the tiny air bubbles away from the tubeing surface inside the radiater. Removing the surface tension, per se, allows more fluid to make contact on the metal, which in turn allows more heat to be transfered thru the metal to the cooling fins. A great idea if you ask me

Sorry for bumping the thread, but when you guys use this, are you running water? If so, does this stuff change the color of the water? I race in a class that only allows water, so it would have to be colorless.

I'd think it'd go a bit on the pink side.

I don't think there is enough in the bottle to turn it too pinkish. How do they check? Dump some out? or just peek in the radiator cap?

Yeah its not enough to make a visible difference. also, your just supposed to run it and water.

They pop the cap, and shine a flashlight in. If they are not sure if it is water, they siphon some out, to check it's color. If they do siphon some will it be discolored? I need to know for sure, becuase if they see something other than watter, I'm screwed. I'd have to drain it, fill it up, start the car, let it idle for one minuite, and drain it again 5 times with them watching.

Best check first and experiment before hitting the track! I bet them fellers have heard of water wetter and their ilk. If you aren't overheating as is then don't bother with it.

typical maintenance for me with any car i purchase is flush and fill for the coolant...god knows what people have done...my Protege GT looked like 100% concentrate anti-freeze lol.

so if you're racing this car, i'd recommend flush and fill, use distilled water and water wetter...seems to work pretty good.
