    MrNeuman's college students budget escort turbo worklog

    Well I desided I need a summer project so what better way to start a project then go out and buy an egt for $450. Her name is Grace and the integra, Lacey, is my daily. the egt has some nasty left front end damage. So fare Ive had to replace the brake lines, engine coolent fan sensor and do some body work.
    The goal of this turbo poject is to make a car thats fun to drive that dosent look all that great, that I can take through feilds if I should choose or just drive like a jackass through snow covered back roads and not car if i scuff the paint or dent a fender. I also am aiming for it all to be under 1500 for everything I want done to the car



    Next I have to start geting the pay checks in so I can get the cash for the the turbo parts.
    shopping list includes so far is
    gtx injectors
    vj20
    bp26 manifold
    bp26 ecu
    and the rest should fall into place

    I also have a line on some fat rally lights

    More to come when the parts start coming

            lol, looks like your project is extremely similar to mine. except i don't have the luxury of a second car to drive while i work on it. or the money to finish it right now. good luck!

              yeah that name is going to be an issue but i wasnt wanting to be a total jerk and say something publically. i guess other people can do it for me. LOL thanks guys. at the end of the day we al know who i am.

                Alright I have a question if someone could answer it would be greatly appreciated, Do i need to get an rx7 vaf to run with the basic gtx ecu, gtc injectors, and vj20 setup or can I use the stock egt vaf?

                  What's the code on the EGT VAF? If it's of similar design and has the same pin count you should be okay. You might have to adjust it, which you would certainly have to do if you go the RX7 VAF route.

                        I have a BP26 manifold and vj-20 turbo in beautiful condition I will sell you. $600 + shipping.







                        Obviously the vj-20 is the one on the left. vj-11 there to the right.

                          thanks but i just bought a vj20 and an ecu for 350, if you have a resonable price on the manifold i would be interested in that but i might just end up geting one from corksport

                            another question if you guys would be so kind, is it best to use a diverter valve for the bp turbo because of the vaf or dose a bov work best?

                              A BOV with a recirculating system is best, because the air is already measured and the ECU will introduce an approriate amount of fuel. If you vent to atmosphere, you will run lean for a fraction of a second. To some, this is a big concern. You might notice the slight hesitation when you reapply the gas, you might not. There are a lot of people who vent to atmosphere, including myself, and in my experience I haven't had any major issues.
