I had trouble a while back finding a place to mount the squirt. There is no
room anywhere in the 2nd gen for it that would be reasonably accessible.
The storage compartment under the radio is the only locale near the origional PCM.I had it semi-permanently mounted in that spot before but it was a pain in the sack anytime i needed to remove it.
This 1/4 inch aluminum plate can be removed by unscrewing the 4 mounting bolts in each corner. The MS comes with it as an assembly. The fuse,LC1 switch and led are mounted to the back side of the plate.I also put a switch in for the bootloader in case the MS crashes or needs updating. The switches
are well recessed and you cant operate them without using a small object.
They are old computer power, reset switches from an old scrap case.
The plate is bolted to the front of the old OEM CD storage box.
All wires have connectors on them so that everyting mounted to the plate can be removed for service
