why dont you just replace the 2.5" coil springs out with something longer/softer? QA1 has custom lengths/rates for around $50.
This way you can get the desired rate, typically people for Ground Controls get 300/200 for hatchback/sedan BGs.
So a wagon...i'd go 300/250 and just run the proper struts obviously.

Get the megan racings for 97-03 ZX2,$145 on ebay shipped... they felt AWESOME b4 my rear S/Rs blew lol even bumpy road or taken twisties alot faster than u normally would these keep my car planted, but still a smooth/sporty ride without 0 bounce 2" front, 1.75" rear Spring rates are 300F & 250R. Everyone that drove my car after they went in were amazed with the ride

I've been running the ZX2 S/R Tokico struts, with the Eibach Sportline (stiffer than the Pro-Line) springs to match.
I've been SUPER bad about actually putting any coilovers on the wagon, as there are a bunch of things I want to do all at once, and don't want to take everything apart several times.
Since you've already got coilovers, I'd just go with a different length and rate. +1 on QA1, they make top-quality springs. 300F/250R is a good rate. Get some longer springs, say two inches longer than your current ones, so you can keep the travel, and just run the lower spring perches further down the threads.
Here's a view of it just sitting still.
Here's me cornering at about 90, on the loaded side:
Here's a buddy with STOCK springs on his sedan, with me driving his car.
Sorry for the small pics, that's all I've got online for the wagon right now.

but then u can go lower on the coilover perch to achieve the rideheight you want, but have more suspension travel

exactly ^^ my coilover sleeve setup at the max height will have the car 1" lower compared to stock...therefore the lowest setting would be 3" so you've got some height to play with!-Jack

more suspension travel FTW. If you've got only a super-short stroke available, your damper won't operate as effectively, and it will upset the balance of the car if you hit the bumpstops or whatnot.
Stock springs are like 10 inches or so, rally springs are commonly 14, and the cars sit close to the same height at times. Extra travel is great when hitting bumps and stuff in rally. That aside, with more travel, you can turn harder on asphalt and still keep your wheels planted without starting to slide.

You'd want at least 2" taller than your ebay coil springs...maybe even longer. My megan racing coilover sleeve kit I have collecting dust has:
450lbs front @ 6" tall
350lbs rear @ 7" tall
So all depending if you're going to cut your spring perches, i'd run 2" taller with your perches, or 3" taller with your spring perches cut.
P.S. the springs are $44ea so $175-180 for all 4 isn't to bad considering you'll have your desired spring rate AND height adjustability still.

also you'll get some spring noise, but i'm sure you probably already do haha, its from the springs being so short, to eliminate that you would need helper springs...which cost i think $22ea...which adds up x 4. They keep everything compressed when the suspension is at full travel.-Jack
