    Planning on buying an MR2...

A friend of mine is selling a..
1986 Toyota MR2 5pd with 153xxx on the clock. The interior is very clean, the outside has a little rust spot around the Left back fender. Has installed new... Fuel pump,Cap & rotor, spark plugs & wires, catalytic converter, piping, muffler. Tires are new, the car feels VERY strong and pulls like a mofo. The only thing it needs are bleed the brakes. That's it.
    He's asking $1300.
Is there anything I should consider when buying it(any mechanical problems with those cars?)??
    Should I buy it?

    watch High Octane..
they did wikkid **** with an 89 MR2.

for 1300... make sure everything is good, and that you can easily dispose of the rust.. (no use in buying a car for long term if it has rust)

Check the underbody. did he/she rust-proof the car's underbody? if not.. there's likely a bunch of rust under there... Northern states are littered with salt and that just chews away at any bare metal
