zoom zoom misfire, smoke sputter die

so im gettin on the highway, take 1st out , take 2nd out, 3rd starts movin nicely then all of a sudden it gets lazy... i look @ boost and its good, A/F is also hmm... hit 4th and ease into it, sputter, sputter sputter, misfire, look in the rearview and hit the gas SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKE lol

I smoke coated the 2 lane highway completely... get home, oil EVERYWHERE and dipstick is DRY...

start pullin plug wires while its idlin, cyl 4 is dead.... head gasket anyone?

i'll be pullin the head 2moro, but i have to consider this well being that i have basically no money....

For what its gonna cost me for head machining, valve seals, head gasket, oil/coolant, all that good stuff

I got 97 Kia BP motor with 108k on it for $150.... i think this is the better way to go.... we'll see come 2moro....

i'm doubting its just a headgasket, unless you were overheating it or something.... i'm still running the stock gasket which is the same for all BP's.

i cant lie, ive been getting the signs.... coolant vanishing with no leaks, occasional coolant smell... but ive ignored it in hopes that it would hold off til i got another job and could afford to do it..

And if you dont think its the head gasket, what else would explain the dead #4 cylinder and the oil everywhere

It looks like some came from the valve cover breather... Maybe you had some crazy blow by... Good luck bro.

if it was crazy blowby then judging by the amount of smoke that came from the exhaust my rings are cooked

i was thinking you may have taken out a ring land or something like that. no compression, lots of smoke, lots of crankcase pressure, etc.

think that could have been the knocking i had? remember i told u i swapped out lifters and it was still there? would a ring land make the noise?

Well. I have and that looks like you cracked your block. You are probably down a piston and had some detination. That is exactly how my engine bay looked after I destroyed my #4 piston.

FK!!! I guess im gonna have to pass on the kia motor for $150, since I had the feeling to do a search on here and low and behold what i was thinking was true.. the kia bp doesnt have the oil/coolant feeds on the block WTF !!

is your old breather filter caked with oil? if so pull the breather off, and crank it up, if oil comes shooting out my guess would be ringlands.
