tuning rx7 vaf correctly on a boosted application w/ 4wiretps

I've heard that there is no way to really tune the RX7 Vaf ? I mean iv skimed over the write ups about them but im not sure they if they relate to boosted applications as well. But I have a 4wire tps conversion and i was wondering how this would affect anything ? Currently im running a stock u code with the vj20setup and in 5th at wot around 4k rpms it just like cuts you off. you have to like press the gas lightly if your in 5th get it past 4k then u can go wot. I wana do this because i believe there are some gains to be had if i did it and it might help me solve this problem of the bogging. Some times the car turns off to if i just boosted and i drop it into neutral and come to a stop .

To tune the VAF you have to move the wheel to match the voltage of the BP VAF when key is at the "on" position, and when it's running.

What are those numbers? idk lol probe your old BP VAF.

It happens to me all the time. I'm pretty sure its boost cut or fuel cut. If you look at your boost guage it will shoot up to whatever your boost level is set to and higher. The vaf cant compensate for all the air going in is my guess.

thats what i told him, but it was never a problem for me anyway, just a reason to downshift.

I just played with it until the car ran ok.

Thier is a way to tune the rx-7 vaf, but u should do it on a dyno, i can help u out though i thats what u wanna do. An for the problem ur having now, could be like stated above, a fuel cut, what ecu are u using? Bp09? Bp26?

dont play with the arm, just the spring tension, if your set on doin it the scribe a mark so you get it back on spot

Right, don't mess with the arm at all, u nd a wide band, an if u hav 1 already great, mark the tenstion wheel then, turn it a couple clicks, clock wise leaner, counter richer, an go do a pull, an keep a close eye on ur fuel ration, the reason ur car feels laggy is because the rx7 vaf is not setup fr ur car, ur probly running super rich, which would cause u to b laggier. I would do this on the dyno, that's how I did mine, till u gt a flat fuel curve

The reason you feel a lag is because the rx7 meter is bigger. When i switched to the rx7 Vam my boost went down some psi

u need to tune the vaf, when i installed my rx7, my car ran horrible, rich as ever, a/f's were in the low 10's at wot. Its nt calibrated to ur setup, injectors an such. From my experince thats what worked for me.
