Installed MX3 front seats (later-style, I hate the fixed headrest of the early ones), Protege mirrors, and half-assed fixed the passenger auto belt. MX3 belts do not fit the wagon, at least not without a LOT of modification/fabrication. Bummer. Still need to R&R the rear bumper, since the sides are not attached properly and it makes a lovely banging noise on the highway. Pics later.

Today I actually managed to get stuff done. Replaced garbage paper speakers with somewhat better ones (Sony 4-ways- 5.25 front, 5x7 rear)- next will be a sub, because the lack of bass is killing me. Took off the rear bumper, RTV'd the vents in the quarters, and put it back on (attached properly this time so it doesn't make noise on the highway). Also put on new tires- Falken Ziex 512s, in 205/50-15. I have these on the Miata and like them for the price, but I'd still much rather have my old Yoko ES100s. Old tires were a complete bitch to take off, had some trouble with the tire machine (which added new scratches to the rims, joy). Next time I need tires I am buying new rims. These are looking pretty haggard after years and years of being on different cars, and I'm sick of ****ing with tires with sidewalls this stiff.

Quick picture of how it sits now (replaced the front struts and broken front springs a few weeks ago, so it has new stock stuff all around):

No not that, most escorts were built in "MeHico". A few were made in the US. A ton of them in 95. Seems like every US production 95 wagon I've come across has been loaded to the gills and exhibited excessive rust (even for an old escort). Which made me wonder how you got an apparently fully loaded 95 wagon with no rust. Just a random question.

                              So where's the boost?
