    KL experts diagnose coolant leak

    Like the title says I’m looking for some KL engine experts to help diagnose a coolant leak. I’ve included thumbnails to the best pics I could provide. I have a leak, I believe near the front of the engine such that it is leaking into the valley between the cylinder heads.

    Anyone experienced a similar leak and their solution?
    Please confirm I will have to strip the front of the engine to behind the timing belt to get the water pipes out and reseal them.

    the pipe that goes through the valley has rubber o rings on the ends to seal it. maybe those rings are no good and starting to leak. pretty easy to pull out and change

      that tube can be removed without dismantleing the front of the motor. if i remember right, on the transmission side of the engine there are two bolts that you remove and you can remove the tube as an assembly with the section that houses the heater core hoses and lower rad hose. remove that , then replace the o rings and reassemble it all back up

        Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll try the o-rings on the main and bypass pipe and see if that does the trick. That is a much easier fix compared to dismantling the whole front end.
