    P5 oil change....4,4 1/2, 5 quarts ???

just wondering how many quarts of oil am i suppose to put on this thing?
from experience 2.0 L is about 5 quarts but when u do an oil change 5 quarts is too much cuz of some left over oil inside the engine that wont come off... but when i put 4 it still looks too much on the dip stick ... anyhow how much do u guys put and how do u check ur dip stick. In the manual its says warm engine up till normal operating temp then shut engine off for 5 mins. then check the dip stick. Do u guys do the same?

BTW if im in the wrong forum please feel free to move me . THX!

That's because the oil filter is the size of a shot glass...
And yeah, off & warm is the most accurate way to check it, but I'm not sure you need to wait 5 whole minutes. I check mine at every gas fill-up (yes, really) and I just check it after I start pumping, so it's had a minute or two to sit and settle.

I knew a guy with a Jetta. He put 8 quarts of oil (no lie) and the exhaust was smoking so bad. He had me look at it (before finding out how much he put in). I checked his air filter and it was soaked with oil. I asked him how much oil did he put in and was told 8 quarts, it about knocked my socks off. My jaw hit the ground!
