ive got a long way to go

i got my 1991 escort gt in a trade for my 1998 contour svt when i had a rod knock and car number 5 on my list of ten that i want to won could not be driven anymore.

now i own car #3 on that list, its not a veruy good list but its a list of cars that i like, they might not be the best but i like them and the early 90's escort is one of my fav's.

this cafr looks like ****, but it will run forever and im in the process of returning it to "good" condition all the way around.

the first thing i did was swap out the dented frender, and sway exhaust manifolds to keep the car somewhat quite so i didnt draw to much attention from the fuzz while i deliver some freaky fast jimmy johns

the fender i pulled from a 91 green gt ( the only one i could find with the same body kit) a matching full size spare ( i hate driving on dounuts & everyone should have a full size spare) and the exhaust manifold i pulled from a 95 escort gt with the heat shield ( it was the only one that looked different and cooler than mine) all from parts galore in detroit.

Wow that's a lot of work ahead. Did the 95 EGT have the side skirts? grab those since they are better, because it doesn't create rust on your 1/4 panels. I like it though

Yeah, they just cause the rockers themselves to rust.

Times like these that I'm glad I live on the west coast. Good luck, seems like you know what you're doing, I'd be way in over my head with that car!

lucky for me most is just surface rust that needs a good sand and primer, but there are some parts that are beyond that. but im more on the mechanical side, and i just picked up some 2.5in exhaust piping to start on a custom exhuast..ill have pics up soon

slow and steady wins the race, i got some things done that have been bothering me since i got the car, now all my dash lights work, and i have a working de-frost switch.

I got some pictures of the exhaust im puting together.

I got newer-ish tires to put on the car. i kinda broke but the tires i have are no good for winter, but i got my hands on 2 p3000 perilli tires and 2 falken tires. im putting them on wednesday when i go back to school, and while my cars on the hoist i can mock up my new exhaust to see what it will look like.

tomorrow my baby is getting an oil change
