    Cookie's 'kLog

Cookie is a car. She is a 1991 Mazda Protege LX. She was very sad.

Then a boy found her and asked his wife if he could take her home. She said yes! (As long as the boy got rid of some of his other toys and worked really hard to take care of Cookie...and bought her some jewelry...his wife, not Cookie)

The boy knew that Cookie was really sick but he loved her and would help her get well. So he took her apart. This made the boy sad because he couldn't play with Cookie when all of her guts were spread all over the place.

Block mounted to engine stand via FSM sideways style. Clever light mounting so my blind self can see what I am doing.

Finished setting gaps on top and second rings last night. Tops are 0.018" and 2nds are 0.021" +/- .002". I set the gap for the 2nds at 0.003" over whatever the tops were. Tonight I will do the oil rings to about 0.020" and install the piston. I did the crank last weekend.

Internal block work completed over the weekend. Rear cover and oil pump installed. Pictures later along with more progress. MBSP and oil pan likely to be installed tonight or the next day or two. Taking head to MS this week if my paycheck on Friday can handle it!
