    klde/klze question.

so i have heard something about this motor that i would like to find out for sure, since doing this would save some time and space. i was told that power steering cannot be deleted without the motor overheating..it just doesnt sound right to me. can someone help me out here?

i did search and found nothing.

If im not mistaken i think dan gutted his power steering pump so he can use it just for maintaining tension on the belt without the motor having any useless drag.

hmm. well i ask because heres the deal, i had an old slammed out accord without power steering. all i did was unhook the lines from the rack and run them back to the pump (yes not the best i know) but it worked fine the entire time i had the car. i really dont care to keep it because im going to need every little bit of space i have to get it in there. thanks for your answer man.

so basically it can be done..?

anything can be done, you can even make an idler pulley there with a bearing if you really want to make more space. the problem isnt the space in the rear of the motor, its the space in the front that will be killing you.

Find adjustable pulley like on the picture so the water pump has a belt.

That would be basically what i was talking about. although the pulley is in a different position but that will work. you save a whole bunch of space right there with that setup.

hmm that might not be a half bad idea!

i dont know why, but ive heard more than one person say that there is absolutely no way to delete power steering without the motor running hot.
