    Vj23 = ?

    ive looked around a bit but does anybody know what turbo te vj-23 is closely compared to? i think it would be a gt2871r or a t3. Any guesses?

    somewhere in there.

    the gt2871r has (gasp) a 71mm compressor wheel. the gtr compressor wheel is 65mm.

      well, if you every decide to rebuild the vj23 then it is rebuilt with a Garrett 60 series cartridge, so it's close to that

            VJ23=not rebuildable, unless someone were to do some serious frankensteining. The centersection is bespoke...T3 is gonna be way way laggier, a gt28R or 2871R is pretty darn close. When mine gives up the ghost that's what it's getting replaced with, just like my rallycar only without the @%$#()ing restrictor...

              they can be rebuilt but it takes another vj23 to donate parts from, big pain in the ass but mildly possable sorry just thaught id add that or all to know, back on topic!.

                      I got a rebuilt VJ23 at home. The bearing section must be in good condition. In my case, it was leaking oil, so the guy at the shop took the shaft and machined down to accept a smaller seal. For the bearing, we searched and found nothing to replace the stock one. It got balanced back after. Total cost, 400$CDN.

                      Most of those turbos leaks oil inside the piping....
                      -1993 Familia GT-R, 3" stainless exaust, 0.100" oversize Supertech pistons, ported and polished head, "hemi" style combustion chamber, Supertech 1mm oversize valves, megasquirt, 880cc low-z, MSD HVC, custom SS ramhorn turbo manifold, GT3076R ar.63, 25psi, 3" SS custom exhaust. Soon to be MS3X, COP and 28psi!
                      -2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X MR, AEM turbo inlet system, 3" magnaflow exhaust.
                      -2006 Pimped Grand Caravan 3.8L GT40...I'm kidding, it's stock

                        GCG turbos here in australia can succesfully transplant GT3071 internals into the VJ23 housings, using the full Garrett cartridge.

                        ROB-80E has one over here, and pulled 356fwhp

                          That's interesting, that sure as hell would save some fab. effort. Might wanna do this with the street car when the time comes. Gonna hafta bookmark thier site!
