    Protege 2.0 ES build

Just finished my ACT clutch and Fidenza flywheel. My pressure plate is a custom job, because it only has 5 bolts instead of 6 (35lbs of torque is toooooo muccccch). My buddy helped me rip the tranny out which was quite terrifying. But hey, it runs great. The difference in weight between the stock and Fidenza is ridiculous. I also have installed a B&M shifter and polyuri-what the hell ever they're called bushings. Anyhoo, my Garret T3 just came in, so I gotta save some more loot up and get everything else. Hopefully I can have this thing running 8psi by DEC, wish me luck.

so you only have 5 bolts instead of the normal 6 holding the pressure plate on? hopefully that doesnt create a weak spot that doesnt hold as much pressure, or you going to have problems....

no, what will happen is it will have a minor vibration in it, and the other bolts may work themselves loose. I imagine the pilot bearing wont last long either.

yea, its in the BG thread...

His is at least a 2001 since it's clearly labeled a 2.0 ES.

So 8psi on a garrett unit? what size? gonna go with forged internals at all?

Sorry if I'm in the wrong section, I thought 2002 was BG, honestly I don't even know what that means. Anyway, I plan on getting a new flywheel after I get my turbo setup, as the pressure plate stud is stuck in it. I really don't think the stock output of my motor will work that plate loose. I have know idea what BG BJ FS or any other of these two letter engine names or body styles are ( Feel free to educate me), all I know is I enjoy working on a car, don't know what I'm doing, but I greatly enjoy it. There was no greater satisfaction than actually putting my tranny back in and driving away, because I freakin did that. But to the guy that asked whether or not I'm gonna forge, the answer is yes, but I think later I'll do that. My poopy FS internals will handle 8psi with a good tune, plus this is my everyday driver so I don't plan on beating it on the track till I get it sleeved and forged pistons and ect.

You have a bj chassis car. Bg is the chassis code for 90-94 mazda protege, 91-96 Escort, 90-94 323 and mx3. If you look in the section it says bg worklogs and under that it tells you what car and year fit into the bg category
