GB: Toyota E153 -> BP adapter plates (CLOSED/awaiting delivery)

Who is interested in taking the plunge? I can get more adapter plates made, but I need a minimum of 10 people on board.

This would be a group buy for only the plate, you will need to source everything else, and build your own mounts. There is one bolt near the oil pan which must be a socket head... i happen to have a whole box of them, so i'll include it. for more details on the other parts and labor required to do the swap, check out my (work in progress) how-to thread:

Price for the plate will be $260 each.
Shipping is included for the lower 48 states. Overseas/international is additional.

Payment will be taken as 50% now, 50% when they are finished. Paypal or money order is fine. If you happen to feel like paying in full right off the bat, that's fine with me too.

    50% deposits ($130) were due Friday 1/22

Final payments are due Friday 2/19

    People in the GB:
    1. wheresthericego (PAID IN FULL 1/23)

PM sent to everyone on above list on 1/7:
    Good evening guys,

The group buy is ON, and here are the details.

50% deposits ($130) are due Friday 1/22, that gives you 2 weeks. The sooner the better... he wont start working on anything until I forward the money to him.

For those of you who stated they could/would pay in full, i'd appreciate it if you still did so. Anyone else willing to pay in full certainly may as well. The more people who are paid in full, the less cash I have to front if there are late deposits . The "rules" about late payments that I posted in the first post of the GB thread apply.

Payments can be sent to me at xxxxx@xxxx.com - or you may mail checks/money orders if you wish. PM me for my address.

I will send out another mass PM when the plates are finished. Final payments will be due at that time, and the plates will ship soon after (as soon as I receive them). They are being bulk shipped to me, and i'll distribute them out.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

    -Jon
PM sent to everyone on above list on 12/29:
    Good morning,

Alright - who's ready to do this? You are all on the current list, and 5 of you said you were ready to pay in full right now. Is this still the case?

I would very much prefer to have 50% deposits from 10 people, vs. full payments from 5... that way I theoretically wont have to front money for unsold adapters when the parts are finished. If it comes down to the wire, I do have some room on my credit card...

Here's the deal - if you cant make at least a 50% deposit now, but you can come up with the full amount before the buy is over, you can still get in but I'm raising your price to $280 since I'll be taking a risk myself by potentially having to buy several adapters myself. The same goes for people who are late enough making their final payment that I have to bail them out to keep things going on time. I think this is reasonable?

Everyone paying on time will still pay $260, that hasn’t changed.

If you are ready to go please PM me back with the amount you can afford to put down, be it 50% or 100%. I'd like to start taking payments as soon as I can confirm that there is at least $1300 out there ready to be spent right now.

    Thanks
    -Jon

this adapter plate could also be used with an alltrac/gt4 transmission if you were going AWD.

there actually once was a camry alltrac, but i don't know what motor that actually had or if the bellhousing pattern is compatible.

        patterns that fit this plate:
        3SGTE (MR2, celica alltrac)
        1MZFE (v6 camry, solara)

I *think* the Alltrac Camry had a 5SFE, but don't hold me to that.

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

yes it will fit the GT4 tranny, however some modifications to the block and oil pan are required in order to get the rear transfer to clear the motor.

still waiting for a reply on the final price, but it should be around $250+shipping for the plate. i'll probably do half now/half when they are done, like i did for the MFactory LSD's. of course if anyone wanted to pay in full up front, that'd be fine too.
