Its a G series like the BP tranni. I've heard the diff pin likes to go 225-250hp. Throw an lsd in and its good to 300-325. Now it can last longer just depends on your driving style.

In an MX3, I've put up to 400whp thru one on poly filled mounts and I drag race the crap out of mine at the track. Typically I race in the neighborhood of 340whp these days. Never broken a tranny.

One key to your tranny lasting seems to be the clutch setup. I run an unsprung ACT 6 puck with a stock pressure plate. Had the same one in there for 5 years now. I think it's made of magic beans.

In the probe/mx6 chassis, we broke a tranny on Saturday in a matter of 50ft on the same power level I run at.

That's basically what I'll be running. It will be n/a for now and when the time comes(if it does) I'll boost it and hopefully grab 300hp. So that's good food for thought

One of the probetalk guys put down 398whp. And was constantly dynoing it and did like 40 runs at the track. after months of abuse, the motor failed before the trans.

the stock diff is the first thing to worry about. i'd recommend an MFactory LSD.

the second thing is 3rd gear, thats what blew on mine, since i had a quaife in there.

depending on my time frame for assembling mine, weld the diff pin on my mx3 trans prior to install. but otherwise i think it will hld my power goal of 200-250whp.

yep and they are all essentially the same aside from a few different gear ratios here and there. none are significantly stronger than any other.

Probe and mx3 are the exact same trans. Gearing included. The mx6/626 trans on the other hand has taller gears for better highway.
