    ecu question...

ok here is the deal... im trying to put a b6t in to a ford festiva :D im not gonna swap in the 323 harness cause its to much work and dosnt look right IMO... i have been thinking about it and the best thing i can come up with is using a bp26 ecu to run it cause that will plug in to the festiva harness :D so no splicing under the dash :D the only thing is some of the commectors on the other end of the harness needs to be changed, thats fine with me... my question is will the bp26 ecu run the b6t?

also a quick side question... will a bp throttle body fit on a b6t? or will the tps just slide on? i want to do the 4 wire tps swap while im at it....

The B6T has a different distributor from a BP/BPT. The fueling tables will also be off. If you don't want to swap harnesses from a BF GTX and possibly some sensors/actuators, the best bet is to go with a standalone and wire it in to your liking.

is the plugs on a 323 gtx ecu the same as a festiva? the festiva ones are the same as a escort gt, i know that.... the ecu i have out of a 88 323 gt has 3 plugs on it... the festiva harness has 2 plugs on it...

message Damkid, he did the B6t swap on a festive, idk what harness setup he used...id imagine he did it properly and swapped harnesses or modified his, running the b6t ECU/VAF as well.

It only takes 45-60mins to remove your harness.

ya i have talked to him a fair amount on the festiva forum... he used the 323 harness and had to cut a hole in the firewall to run it thru.. i dont want to do that, i want a super clean install

does ANYONE have a pic of a 88 or 89 323 gtx ecu? anyone know of any other ecu that will plug in to a festiva and run the b6t? as said above the plugs are the same as a escort gt, if that helps...

just to let u guys know, i am currently running a mazda 323 gt ( bf chassis ) , with a bg chassis n/a bp motor , swapped over the b6t dizzy, b6t ecu chipped by rouch racing, harness, some bp sensors, gtr 460 cc , a walbpro 255 lph, 2 and half inch custom exhaust, vj 23 turbo and mani, bully stage 4 clutch, eliminated the clutch cable to hydraulic clutch master cylinder combined to a kia sephia 28 spline g series trans with am after market lsd, also running a stock b6t maf, car is set at 15 lbs with an greddy profec b boost controller, innovate motorsports wideband and the car runs strong and put down 273 hp on a mustang dyno, this is a summer car but its also an every day, summer driver , stock bp/ na internals, got about 50 km on it since the build, also many other mods to list... engine has about 167000 km on it, still purrs ran castrol syntec 20w50 from when i first bought the car , at 105 000 km, anyone can bash castrols syntec but i just cant find rason 2 and im sure that some of u guys out can guess why, lol.

                  to sum it up :
                  -b6t harness
                  -b6t distributor
                  -b6t chipped ecu
-n/a bp motor, long nose crank from a 1995 egt
                  - a couple of bp sensors
-even stock n/a manifold with vics....

just to say that many pople in asia wiring in bp motors with b6t looms, very frequent, if u know what youre doing, obviously.I even ran the stock b6t ecu for a while lost a bit of top end power but still ran strong.

most definitelly possible, but if i remember correctly, the b6t ecu has a 3section plug in where the bpt is a 2 section plug in, so theres definitelly some pin swapping involved , never really tried.

GTX ecu is a 3 connector just like the GT.

BF GTX ECU has a different connector from the newer BG chassis (90-95) ECUs.
