      Cool...

What do i need beside the box? cranks sensor ofcourse. but what else?

What kind of wiring diagram are you working after? can i have a copy?

And what about actual tuning? du you have fuelmaps etc that you gonna drive with?

What you need depends on how you set it up. I'm using ms2 v3.0 with a relay board and edis 4 for ignition. You could use the stock harness and sensors but then your stuck with the vaf. I haven't really started on the maps yet but im going to post all of my info if/when I finish it.

You can use the stock sensors and harness but you can ditch the VAF. You'd just need to wire into the fuel pump relay. (IAT too but you should do that anyway)

You can use a Miata cam angle sensor if you dont want to run a crank trigger wheel. Bolts right where the distribtor would go. Might not be as easy as an EDIS setup but people get it to work no problem.

I want to get rid of as many sensors wirings, vacuum hoses etc as possible to get a clean engine bay.

so stock harness is really not an option. the vaf also need to go.

is edis setup better/easier to go with? im pulling the engine up anyways....so...

Rocketman, i remember you was installing a MS in your b6t, or was it a BP? anyway, did you ever make some good fuelmaps?

could you help me with a buying list, so that im sure to get it all, in one order?

            Thanks

I was going to use the miata cas and coil packs but you can't with ms2. What all you need depends on what you want to do. http://www.megamanual.com/MS%20FAQ.htm that and DIYautotune.com are good places to start reading. Diyautotune has a good write up on using the miata stuff with ms1. I think rocketman just has his set up as a datalogger.

I did have the MS setup to run the engine but I used it primarily for datalogging. My maps were not all that optimized. You can use the Miata CAS and coilpacks with the MS II. You need to run the MSII-Extra code, and setup the crank trigger like a 4-2 Mitsu wheel the signals are the same.

Use the Miata setup for the igntion / tach http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_arti...azda_miata.htm

^ Good writeup. For the simplest setup I suggest going with a BP distributor and single coil. The Miata wasted spark setup is a nice upgrade.

The only problem with running the stock distributor and single coil is that you will not be able to control the ignition advance as easily. It's doable, but you will have to disable all the mechanical advance mechanisms (vacuum, flyweights). And without control of ignition timing, you're missing out on huge power gains.

In general, fuel tuning makes your engine safe - ignition tuning makes your car fast.
