    Official Cam/Cam Gear Thread

    OK, for the people who do have performance cams or adjustable cam gears please post your setup and any before and after dyno results. people with adjustable cam gears, whats working best for you? how many degrees advanced/retard on intake and exhaust?

    I currently am running the Corksport performance turbo cams with adjustable cam gears. My gears are still set to 0* or stock cause i havent had time to dyno tune.

      i did the same swap a few weeks ago, i notice mine spools up earlier, but my vac reading went from 18 to about 17-17.5 now at idle. im buying the cs cam gears after xmas and ill see what i can do from there.... the first thing i noticed on mine was the sound difference when reving it up, and that it seems to rev a little faster, with a bit more top end... i also went from the stock bp cams to bpt over summer and the cs web turbo grind a few weeks ago....

        did u notice any difference between the BPT cam and the web cam?

          bottom end seemed smoother, but theres a little more top end too, its been crappy since i put them in i havent been hard on it much really....

            i am running mine with the intake 6* retarded (3 cam degrees) and the exhaust 5* advanced (2.5 cam degrees). this is with the webcams 505+2.5 grind for HLA's.

            this was just a guess, it hasnt been dyno tuned. i did make 310whp with a boost leak though.

              now jon, would all these same sets of web cams be good set to the same optimized advance or retard. or what actually determines the so called best setting? all i know is the better vac you get the better...

                so when running turbo cams (gtx) any sugestions? on set up?
                94 lx, custom manifold Mitsubishi 16g (EVO III) turbo, XTD stage 3 clutch kit, strut bar, and 3 inches exhaust free flow. Natural aspired Head and Block, RX7 N/A 440 cc injectors, GTX intake manifold, MS2 V3 (stratifiedauto) , SX Fuel pressure regulator, Front mount intercooler, TD05 16g turbo

                    I have tighe billets with 280deg duration, 10.5mm lift. Retaining HLA's with upgraded valve springs

                    Made 350awhp at 1.4bar on pump fuel.

                    Im regrinding them for solid lifters in the new year with more duration and lift. Will find out what changes it makes. However im changing to alcohol based fuel so it will not be a accurate figure difference

                    Mine are pigs to drive on, especially with a 90mm throttle body

                      i want to try solid lifters, im trying to find a bp4w head that i can pnp and put better springs in with maybe some 1mm+ valves . what effect do the lifters have being hla's if theyre not making the valve open all the way? i think about stupid crap like this, and itll make me buy a solid lifter head....lol....
