Stereo wiring colors dont match up...??

I got a new Sony head unit and noticed that the wire colors from the car are a little bit different from the ones on the wire harness. Does anyone have a diagram for this or know which is which? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

How many times can this question be asked every week?
If you don't know what the wires coming out of the back of the stereo are...
They should match up to the after market harness. If for some reason they don't....
Google the stereo model + installation. With a little work you will be able to source them.
            Good luck.

EDIT: Please people!!! Stop chopping up your factory harnesses.
It is really frustrating when a 12 volt professional is asked to correct this kind of mess.

I have the adapter harness but the problem is the harness wires are a little different than the Sony wires. Which is weird! Ive got an 89 bf SE sedan. 4 speakers, 2 front ,2 rear. Sorry if this has been asked before but I searched and didn't find anything on this. I would post pics but i don't know what it's talking about when it asks to put in the URL of my images? I searched that too. I'm new ok! Just trying to learn.

in that case its a simple matter of reading the wiring diagram that came with the adapter, and reading the wiring diagram for your Sony deck. its not really a mazda related issue at all.

if u have the correct harness then i dont need to post mazda wiring diagram, IIRC on my aftermarket harness there is only power, acc, dimmer, ground, and 8 speaker wires. power prob red, acc yellow, dimmer blue, ground black and make pairs out of the other 8 according to color/ stripes

BF is weird... I've done 3 or 7 stereos in them now.. Uh... Yellow red and orange are not what you think.. I don't remember what they are now.... trial and error is how I always did it. If it doesn't power up... turn on your headlights... I bet you have Illumation (which if i remember correctly is red for some awful reason) hooked to power on the deck.

he has the harness though, and like jon said it should be a matter of reading the directions to figure out the aftermarket harness to the deck then just plug it into the stock wiring harness

True... I've never used a harness.

If you can't find the speaker wires themselves..
An old trick is to 'pop' the speaker leads with a 9 volt battery.
Positive and negative does not matter in this situation.
Static will be heard through the line and no damage will occur.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN TESTING LEADS IN AN AIR BAG EQUIPPED VEHICLE!!!!

Blue with a red stripe is always power for your memory.
Blue with a white stripe is switched power.
Red with a black stripe is illumination level controlled power.
                            Black is ground.
Blue with a Yellow stripe is Left Rear speaker -.
Blue with a red stripe is left rear +.
Blue with a green stripe is RR -.
Blue with a white stripe is RR +.
The same color scheme is called for for the front speakers but on a different harness.

                            Good luck,

                            Bob
