    GTX Bronzoil Bushings Discontinuation

Sad news....or else it is old news and I'm just too late, but when I ordered my Bronzoil
bushings for my 88 GTX from Corksport, they stopped making them last year and no more are available...

I do believe they have sets for non 4wd drivers...but not sure...

now to figure what to do....can't our friends take pity on us and make something for us? please!

McMaster-Carr should have them. You'll need to measure the old ones to look up the correct part. Or call CS and find out where they sourced them.

if the interior is set up like my toyota shifter (likely) there isnt a hell of a lot of slop possible in the shifter. its all in the squishy rubber bushings at the trans end of the cables.

sarge is having speed source make some bronze ones for the trans end.

It looks like McMaster may have them. Anyone have the dimensions handy? (hate the downtime...as it has been snowing like crazy). Perhaps a group buy?

Actually I think your biggest problem is the little square bushing that fits on the side of the shifter assembly...easy enough to make one.

Well, I'm willing to fabricate something for myself out of something, but I won't be able to have some down time with the car until the weather gets better - my winter driver. Then I could pull it all apart, take measurements and go from there. AZ: your mention of the square part is the first I've heard; though, I'm pretty new to re-doing the GTX assembly; and, of course, I have no parts microfiche nor does the Chilton add up to much. Anybody have pics or measurements? Thanks for all help!

bpt323: I did send a note to Maz1.8T about a nyoil replacement, but I haven't heard back. I'll try to get a hold of Corksport again...they must hate having to refund my credit card so much, for everything I order is Out-of-Stock!
I did get a set of Mazdaspeed shock mounts out of them though - whew!

I couldn't get any either for my GTR, shifter has a good inch of play in any direction. You can make your own bushings, there's a post on 323gtx.co.uk about that, only took a few hours, was cheaper than buying retail, and came out well.

                              GTR bushings from Norway

Are these the pics and dimensions you are referring?

These,I believe are GTR specific. Thanks!

But I still need something for my BF....:0(
