    B6T Timing

tryna get a mates b6t goin - can anyone throw up a pic/graph of where the cam gears and crank pulley should be when a timing belt goes on - pretty sure iv got it sussed but i wanna be 100% certain. If they all line up how i think they do then im guessin the problem could be electrical.

    Cheers

90% of all problems are electrical. Check your spark then your fuel pressure.

There is a notch on the crank pulley and lines on the cam pulleys. When all three line up to their markers, which should be obvious, the timing is correct.

i dont have a pic or anything but i can try to describe how the intake and exhaust cams need to sit

      1. get the ^ on the crank pointing up (obviously)
      2. there is 2 lines on each of the cam gears, on the intake gear have on line at 12 O'clock and the 2nd a 3 o'clock, and on the exhaust gear have one of them at 12 o'clock and the other at 9 o'clock

hope this helps a good luck.

on each came gear there are 2 or 3 slots for the pin on the end of the cam. stamped on the gear near the slots is an "E" or "I", intake cam gets the pin set on the "I" slot , exhaust on "E".

clock the timing marks up to match the marks on the timing cover backplate. make sure engine is TDC and set to the "T" on the scale and install belt
