heh heh.. so how much did that dogbox set you back?
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

        Came with the car,

Selling it for 1250 with damaged 2nd and 3rd gears (as per my f/s thread)

Could be all back together for 3.5k if you want to repair it, or i can fix it for 4.5k and ship it reassembled.

People who race cars of any kind think motorcycle racers are absolutely off theirs meds. But there's one group that everyone agrees is made up of the most extreme, the most daring, and absolutely craziest people in racing - rally racers."

Albins still make the box's, $7200 AUD if you buy the whole lot today.

Racing history is a little vauge, as back when it was compedetive there was no internet so as its been passed on thru owners its lost a little bit of its pictures and what not each time it changes hands.

It used to be red and sponsored by Pedders suspension australia when it was first built. Was a very compedetive privatly run rally car, won i think 3 ARC canberra rounds and reportedly made approx 200awkw, if you see the works engine that came out of it youd understand how it can make that much. It ran the VJ20 turbo with a 50mm restrictor, GTR engine heavily modified, motec ecu and all the fruit to make the big power.

I only got to drive it in its standard form running stock ecu, but the gearbox and brakes made all the difference to how fast it was, the ability to flatchange and left foot brake into corners was an amazing feeling. Even in my track car the proflex enables you to really soften the front end, but running big sway bars stops the body roll, so i can really get the front end to sink.

              Cheers

              Josh

Too bad I didn't know about this a few months ago, before I sank about that much into doing the GT4 conversion, I'd have been sorely tempted...
