Piercemotorsports to prepare Ferrari 430 Challenge Car for 24 hours of Daytona

After building Porsche's for years it was only a matter of time before a Ferrari snuck it's way in the door. The car is going to be run by Sigalsport/formerly RUMBUM at the 24 hour race in late January at Daytona. The FIA factory built Ferrari Challenge car will need to be converted to American/Grand Am specs to be allowed to compete in the USA's premier Autorace.

The Piercemotorsport team will remove the FIA cage and supply a Grand-AM spec rollcage adding both safety and stiffness to the Ferrari chassis. Additionally Piercemotorsports will build crash support bars underneath both front and rear bumpers, replace Ferrari's single rear airjack (which bolts to the nosecone of the transmission) with dual rear airjacks, remount and protect front radiators, build center console supports, seats, harnesses, and the 3 Grand-am required window nets. We are excited and very fortunate to be a part of the effort, and look forward to seeing the car compete at America's highest level of racing. I'll update the thread often so you can see the progress, follow the car on it's trip to the 24 hours of Daytona!!!

Cool build, should be fun to work on a Ferrari
Is that a WRX/STI wing on the back of that white escort?

Good addition, it fits with the rest of the car. I checked out your website and saw the car and wondered about it, then I noticed it in the pics in this thread. Definitely looks good.

It has begun---Now were drilling holes in a car worth nearly as much as my house and has brakes that cost more than my whole racecar...$25k for a brake job---plus $250 for labor...ridiculous!

Hey I think I found a bumper for Blacky---you'd just have to add about a foot to the track width to make it work...Hmmm........!!!!!!!!!!!

People who race cars of any kind think motorcycle racers are absolutely off theirs meds. But there's one group that everyone agrees is made up of the most extreme, the most daring, and absolutely craziest people in racing - rally racers."

Awesome project. It seems that Ferrari has been around the racetracks quite a bit. Bent wheel, dented fender ... leaking oil? Someone actually drove it!!

It is amazing how much damage this car has after only one race---and even worse is the method it has been repaired---I'm not kidding you, I just found a tennis ball wedged in under the drivers side front headlight keeping it in position...I'll post more pics tomorrow---unbelievable.
