well ive been reading alot on fordlaser and stuff and i came across a write up there. i bought my gtx and the odo says 154k miles and i dont know any previous history of the car. just so happened my buddy has a complete bpt setup (trans, motor, pcm w/harness) and i was thinking about getting that from him.

to get to the point....is it a straight swap?

depends. on who writes the how-to and how they did it. everyone uses a b6t passenger mount on the bpt as a starting point, cause it fits. what transmission are you using, b6t or bpt? there r people who use a bpt and leave the stock ECU, and disty but run bpt injectors and a FPR to even out a/f. some swap to bp26 ecu and harness.

need more info on what you have to use and what you want out of the swap

thats pretty much the only thing ive found.

as to what i want out of this swap...mainly just a solid running car. as far as the bpt, its complete with trans/engine/ecu/and harness.

                i did a bp with boost swap into my old 88 323 (org a b6 with a 4 speed)
i used a bp engine harness and sliced it into the 88 (bf) underdash hanress
i also just kept the bf starting and charging harness.
this is the easyesr way to do this if you want to use the stock bg bp engine harness.

i will have to find the info i wrote down about what wires went were.
if you want to go this wrote...

the 1st thing i would do, is go to a junkyard and grab the bp engine harness plugs(underdash ones) other sides IE the side that goes under the dash into the car, your engine hanress plug into them and cut them about 5 inches after the connection, then take the b6t underdash harness and do the same cut except in the opposite direction about 5 inches after them connections only on, you will be doing this to make a jumper harness to interface the bp hanress into the underdash bf hanress, by doing it this way all the connection will be able to be pluged and unplug easaly and look stock and clean, and you could always go back to the b6t without cutting the wiring up again, but you would have to buy a nother b6t engine hanress.
                5 boosted bp cars,why...
