    ford escourt 2.0 in mx3?

i have a 94 mx3 with a very weak motor and i found a ford 2.0 very cheap and i don't know about the compatibility of the motor in the car and i was just wondering if it is a possible swap and if so is it worth the time and money. all feed back is appreciated

A 1.8L BP engine would be way easier. I don't know about anyone swapping the Ford's 2.0 into an MX-3. I'm sure it's possible though

with antonio on that one. that 1.8 swap would be wayyy better for ya. and you can prolly find one on here for pretty cheap or in a JY cheap. you will prolly pull more power outta the BP (1.8 DOHC) than you will that 2.0. i've personally beaten a focus zx3 w/ that 2.0 DOHC 5 spd. all stock for stock. lotta things you can do w/ that bp to. just search around the site and you will find TONS of info welcome to the site btw good luck with what you are looking for

yeah im doing this swap as we speak actualy, the list is:

          engine
          ecu
          harness
          vaf

if you want the stronger 1.8L trans you also need:
          BP05 flywheel and clutch
          all 3 trans mounts
          transmission
          shift linkage
          axles including intermediate/jack shaft

The ZX3's Zetec motor is completely different from the single-cam piece of **** in the Escort (assuming he's not talking about a ZX2). Stock for stock you have a better power-to-weight ratio with a Protege or EGT, but you can make good power with the Zetec and there's decent aftermarket support as well.

yeah it was the zetec that i raced. but yes i was assuming that s/he was talkin bout the DOHC engine not the SOHC.

^ Nope, you will still be slow with it. Just throw a BP and prehaps an OEM turbo kit
