well im fairly new to the site and bought a gtx not to long back. i have some plans for it so i figured i would start up a worklog.
history:
after owning/building 4 escort zx2's, i was ready to dig into something else. well after searching craigslist one day, i randomly came across the gtx. i knew a little bit about it being around the escort crowd for so long and since it was in my price range, i figured i would get it. ended up buying it for $500.
the night i brought it home..
cant forget the sheriff that pulled me over no less than a mile from the house....ended up just getting off with a warning but apparently the only person that can pull a trailer in texas is the person it is registered to, which would be my dad haha.
car sat at the house for about 3 months from the night i brought it home. didnt have a chance to mess with it since school was just starting at the time and i was still trying to get my DD zx2 on the road. has some free time one weekend and decided to mess with it a bit. suprisingly, the car started right up without any hesitation..
only thing new since then is i moved it to the backyard. i finally got the zx2 back on the road so now im starting to focus on the gtx. i cant wait till spring break when i can actually tear into it and see what i find. i know the previous owner was trying to fix it up and then got deported, gave it to his buddy, then i bought it off him. i also got a box of random parts, dont really know much about them so hopefully i can find some more info (its mainly junk from what i can tell so far). he also gave me a new driver fender, sunroof, and pass mirror that he never got a chance to install.
as of right now, im looking into getting a bpt swap from my buddy. i really want to head in the right direction with this car so any opinions or ideas from you guys would be great.
