GB: Driver side mount for E153 adapter plate group buy

Now that the passenger side mount group buy is pretty much finished, it's time for the driver side mount.

At this point I am planning to make it resemble my mount, but instead of using that stock bracket, I will just weld on another tab on the bottom for that bolt hole. So, it would attach to the frame with two bolts from the top and one on the bottom rear.

Or, if you want to diy attaching the stock battery tray, you can send me that bottom bracket and I'll make it like mine. You'll be on your own for hacking up the stock mount/battery tray to bolt up though.

I am also thinking about slotting the holes where the mount attaches to the transmission so that you can move the engine/trans side to side since the passenger mount is slotted too.

I am open to any design changes, etc.

I would include all the bolts - 3 for the transmission, 3 for the frame, and 1 big one for the mount.

Price is $150 shipped and there will be a $50 non-refundable deposit this time.

I still need to return Jon's passenger mount before he can send me his driver side and Matt is getting me a framerail section for the jig. So, I wont get started on it for at least a week or 2. As with the passenger mount, it should be about 2 weeks from the date the group buy closes until they are ready to ship - so roughly a month from now.

Also, Jon will powdercoat them for $15 plus shipping from him to you (I will ship the mount to him instead of you). You would pay Jon directly, not me.

I do not want to discredit your skill in making these mounts and in fact they look pretty good to me, but what do we do if we buy both of them and they do not work out?
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

they are jigged/copied directly from the mounts in my car... my car has never been hit, the front end is 100% straight. for them to not work out, your front end would probably have to be seriously tweaked. the holes that bolt to the block and trans are also slotted to give you a little free play to account for minor differences from car to car (not unlike the OEM drivers side mount with its oversized holes)

Yeah, like Jon said, they are a direct copy of his to within 1/16". Plus, there is a lot of playroom from the slotting of the bolt holes. I can't imagine any issues in locating the engine/trans side-to-side in the bay. I don't see any issues front-to-rear either as his passenger mount almost exactly matched my mount (~0.04" difference) and I did the locating of my engine/trans independently of him.

Are both plates the same thickness?

Yes, as far as I know, Jon's adapter plate is also 3/8" thick. Not that the adapter plate thickness would make a difference in front-to-rear engine/trans placement.

Ok, the framerail section for the jig is on its way to me (thanks Matt!) and Jon should be sending me his driver side mount soon. So, I should have everything drawn up and ready to go to the waterjet cutter by next Monday (March 1st).

The deadline for the deposits is really up to you guys - Sunday Feb. 28th too soon?

I won't be in until the beginning of march. Probably somewhere around the 10th if that's ok.
